IDEA英語教室（イアン・デビッドソン英語アカデミー）のホームページへようこそ。私は代表取締役を務めるイアン・デビッドソンです。 私はカナダ出身ですが、人生の半分以上を長野で過ごしています。長野は素晴らしい場所だと思っています。安全で友好的なコミュニティ、そしてたくさんの素晴らしいアウトドアアクティビティが身近にある場所で子供たちを育てることができてとても幸せです。
日本人の友人と私がIDEAを始めたのは25年前のことです。私はずっと子供達の為に仕事をしてきました。YMCAのサマーキャンプ・プログラムを経て、教員養成大学に進み、シンガポールにあるインターナショナルスクールで教鞭をとり、自分のスクールを立ち上げる準備をしてきました。 山の中で始まったIDEAは、昔も今も英語とアウトドアの学校です。教師による講義、ドリル、テストといった通常の学習スタイルから離れ、教室の外で英語を学ぶことに重視しています。開校以来、あらゆる場面でコミュニケーションの楽しさを見つけることに焦点を当て、楽しくて役に立つ英語のクラスを提供することを使命としてきました。
当校のレッスンは、生涯現役で活躍できる英語話者を育てることに加え、勉強の実用的な面でも役立つようにデザインされています。学校の成績向上、テスト対策、ビジネス、旅行、仕事への準備など、生徒の皆さんのお役に立てるよう取り組んでいます。日本は急速に変化しており、インバウンド観光が日本経済の大きな部分を占めるようになるにつれ英語はこれまで以上に重要になっています。
IDEAでは常に生徒の目標を身近に感じています。過去25年間、私たちは実績のある教授法と教材を使い、プロフェッショナルでクリエイティブなレッスンを提供することで、何千人もの生徒が英語で成功するお手伝いをしてきました。私たちは常に細心の注意を払って講師を選び、あらゆる年齢層の方々と接することが好きであることを第一に心がけています。

Hello and welcome to IDEA's (Ian Davidson's English Academy) homepage. I am Ian Davidson, and I am the president of IDEA. I am from Canada but have been living in Nagano for more than half my life now. I find it a wonderful place to be. I am very happy to bring up my children in a safe, friendly community with so many great outdoor activities so close at hand.
It was 25 years ago that a Japanese friend and I started IDEA. I had worked with kids all my life - come up through the YMCA summer camp program, gone to teacher's college, taught at an international school in Singapore and was ready to get my own school going. IDEA started in the mountains and was and still is an English and outdoor school. We are dedicated to getting English out of the classroom, away from the regular style of teacher based, lecture, drill, and test style learning. Since the day we opened it has been our mission to offer fun and useful English classes with a focus on finding the joy of communication in all kinds of situations.
On top of trying to create life-long, active English speakers, our classes are designed to help with the practical side of studying too. We work to help our students improve their school grades, prepare for tests and for business, travel, or work. Japan is changing quickly, and English is more important than ever as inbound tourism becomes a big part of Japan's economy.
We always have your goals close to our hearts at IDEA. In the past 25 years, we have helped thousands of students reach success in English by providing lessons in a professional, creative manner using proven teaching techniques and materials. We always choose our teachers with great care and the first thing we always insist on is a love of working with people of all ages.
